I love reading blogs. I love the ideas you can get from them. So when I came across this from Dawn, it was love.
From Dawn: “Recently, I learned of this lovely company; Hand and Cloth. This social enterprise was started to give women in Bangladesh an opportunity to work, create, stitch, to love and be loved. The blankets, made from old saris, are hand stitched. And are simply beautiful!”
Beautiful, colorful, amazingly-patterned kantha blankets.
From their website: “Hand & Cloth offers dignified work to women at-risk and survivors of trafficking. Through creative enterprise and the transforming love of God, we encourage women to begin new lives. Each day at Hand & Cloth, women gather together to sew kantha blankets. Each blanket is sewn together with tiny rows of straight kantha stitches. We like the verse in Scripture that says, if you lose your way, ‘acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.'”
