about.

Meet the Girl.

California preppy living in Washington, DC. Raised in the ever perfect city of Pasadena, I still long for the warmth every time DC weather drops below 55. A graduated from Georgetown University with a degree in Government/History/Jewish Civilizations, I come with all the credentials needed to curate a lifestyle blog and work in event planning/styling.

Overall, I within the blog you will find by my love of cakes, cookies, pastries, bars (both the baked seven layer kind and the social outing kind), food history, my bright green KitchenAid mixer, women’s social history, cookbooks, Popsicles, “girlie” drinks, a capella, big sunglasses, square white plates, pop culture, weddings, wedding blogs, wedding photographers, purses, shoes, Anthropologie, fluff novels and movies. Plus 101 extra bits about me.

Throwing Cake.

I started baking at the good old age of who knows. I grew up with a wedding cake maker as a mom, and there began my love of baking cakes and weddings at the age of about four. One of my favorite moments was when my mom leaving for the gym, would leave me to the necessary things to bake a cake while she was gone. Fast forward ten years and this Georgetown graduate is now photographing families, couples and children, coordinating weddings, and working on developing Throwing Cake, a blog devoted to design, flair, and a wedding here and there.
