wpshoot // anna + nat are wed!

Three days before the big day (aka hip surgery) I finished out my 2016 photo season with the wedding of Nat & Anna. After having a rainy engagement session, we were gifted with a beautiful day in PA/DE on a farm that has been owned by a member of Nat’s family for…well, quite sometime. They got married with only their closest family in a tiny chapel (formerly a spring house) and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to close out a season.

dc life // segways and the potomac

To kick off the roomie’s birthday, a group of us decided to fully embrace the tourist mentality and spend 90 minutes on a segway. Because Ericka enjoys a good pun, I knew that only Segs in the City would do for us. They were fantastic and took our “we don’t need an actual tour but don’t mind our over-the-top patriotic dress” in stride. We ended the day with a picnic in West Potomac Park, where patriotism and charcuterie collided. And you know, a little tree climbing.

wpshoots // megan and jeff

I love engagement sessions. I especially love the ones that involve people who are part of the dance family! Megan and I met when we did a show together and I was so thrilled when she got engaged (I was also extra excited to be taking their engagement photos). It was a shockingly rainless day in May as we started at the Spanish Steps (where Jeff proposed) and ended at the Kennedy Center, where it was a tad blustery. It was so fun to be able to hang out and make them twirl around and laugh at me.

wpshoots // ramen world

No matter the weekend (or weekday), you can find totally crazy events in D.C.. Every now and again, I get the great fun of both attending and photographing. Ramen World was just one of those events. There was the yumminess of all the ramens, fancy cocktails from True Syrups and Shrub District. Also, there was the perk of supporting two of my favorite D.C. chefs (and besties), Jonny (Toki) and Luke (Boundary Road)…oh, and the eating, so much eating.
