wpshoots // a mini stroll in the park

About two years ago, I had a family reach out about doing a mini-session at the National Cathedral. They had a new wee one, he wore a jacket with bear ears on the hood, and he was all smiles. Fast forward to this fall and I got the great opportunity to hang out with this family again (and wee one #2 who recently arrived). I love being able to see new family members join and to watch the littles grow up year after year.

wpshoots // mini-session fun, pt. 1

Okay everyone, I don’t think I can totally express how I feel about our fall mini sessions. Sometimes, when my 9-5 job is insane I think, what in heavens name was I thinking…I just want to sleep in. Other moments I go with, I could be sleeping in on the weekend but instead I’m [fill-in-the-blank]. (Are we seeing a theme?)

But then I get out there and I start shooting, and I get home and I protest editing, but once it’s done I am just tickled pink by what has appeared. And this, is what appeared.

whit & whimsy // 2013 Fall Mini Sessions!

A little plug for my little business

Summer is winding down, kids are back to school and before we know it the holidays will be upon us. And so with fall approaching, it is time for us to give your family* the chance to dress up in their Sunday best (or Friday casual) and get to photo taking for those awesome Christmas card photos that you have to send to your great-aunt Ruth. If you aren’t the Christmas card type like me (sorry Mom), it is a great time to capture the here and now, whether that be kids growing up, maternity shots, or just because life is grand.  You can be prepared to have a good time as we are sure to have you frolicking, laughing and maybe even singing, also, since we would never ask you to do anything we wouldn’t do be ready for laughs all around.

This year we will be offering three options, all in D.C., to provide you with a location that fits your style and flair. To book email whitney@whitandwhimsy.com with your first and second choice for your session. I will email you with information on your confirmed session, a brief survey and the option to pay your deposit via check or online. Deposits must be received within a week otherwise your spot will be released. Sessions are first come, first serve.

*note: Family for us in D.C. can be a little hard to define, so know that Dawn and I love: couples, couples w/ kids, grown-up siblings, kids, extended families, single people (otherwise I could never have my photo taken), roommates, etc. and we would be happy to photograph you all!

family session: the teesdales

Dawn and I have had the great joy of getting to know Rebekah & Scott over the past year+ (how long has it actually been, team?) When they asked if they could do a session, before living D.C. for NYC, we jumped at the chance. So we spent an amazing, sunny morning in November frolicking around Capitol Hill and we couldn’t be happier for the results.

Good Luck in NYC, Rebekah & Scott!
